What have you done to be a better Yahoo?

Besides all the technical knowledge I'm gaining here, one of the biggest and most important things I've learned at Yahoo! is teamwork and being able to contribute to things that haven't been assigned to me directly...so that the final deliverable of the team is top notch. Also, being part of the Tiger team (a flexible tech team that works on different critical challenges throughout the company) is important -- we learn to adapt to the team we are currently working and learn to be even more flexible.

Are you able to think big at Yahoo? How?

Besides developing or improving skills I've mentioned earlier, I have also been able to do things that weren't exactly on my job description. I participated in cultural activities here on a couple of occasions. I visited my university campus a few months back for recruiting and while I sat and interviewed candidates, I was able to identify people who would be a good fit, not just for my team but Yahoo! as a whole.

What specific Yahoo! project has made the biggest impact on you and why?

I've only been here for less than a year and am just on my second project. I worked with Yahoo! Local earlier and am now on a project with Sponsored Search. Both projects have given me the opportunity to learn a lot technically, and apply what I learned over the last few years. I've been facing interesting challenges and really enjoying the experience.

What made you choose Yahoo! as a place to work?

Besides the job profile, what I really liked was the whole culture here at Yahoo!. The colorful cubes, the way the University Recruiting folks treated us, and the interviewing process left a mark on me when I came onsite for my interviews. Once I had the offer, I didn.t think twice before saying "Yes!" to Yahoo!.
