Take technical development courses available on campus. Use alternative transportation.

Are you able to think big at Yahoo? How?

Yes, through daily interaction with various engineering groups to resolve outages and reduce production downtime.

What specific Yahoo! project has made the biggest impact on you and why?

The new AMP! project has probably impacted me the most. This is mostly due to the various acquisitions that have resulted; and for us in operations, acquisitions usually mean integration of new and sometimes disparate infrastructure. Also, on a much broader scale, AMP! is a key differentiator for Yahoo! as it allows us to engage advertisers and publishers at all levels of partnership.

What surprised you most about your internship at Yahoo and why?

The fact that Yahoo! is so much more than just an internet company; there are a lot of areas and opportunities for one to “think big.” Even more surprising is all the fun that is had at work and how relaxed the atmosphere is here, Yahoo! probably holds the record for foosball in all its corporate offices.
