What have you done to be a better Yahoo?
Participate in activities to benefit Yahoo! beyond the code I write. This year I performed in a how-to video for the yearly Yahoo! reviews to introduce other Yahoo's to the process.
Are you able to think big at Yahoo? How?
Innovation and creativity are highly encouraged. Within Strategic Data Solutions (SDS), my department, every Thursday afternoon is personal time allocated for all to innovate and work on their own projects. Every few months, there's a forum to show off and get feedback on the projects.
What specific Yahoo! project has made the biggest impact on you and why?
Within SDS there is a lot of neat data mining and research going on. There have been some pretty cool projects regarding the use and impact of the Yahoo! Toolbar or the optimal number of paid search results to display on any given search page.
What surprised you most about your internship at Yahoo and why?
The access provided to the top executives and decision makers through frequent talks and Q&A sessions.
