Favorite Moment(s):

My favorite moment while working as a customer service representative for Yahoo! Hot Jobs was definitely when the HotJobs New York Office organized a Front Office scavenger hunt. We were given a list of twenty Yahoo! properties and then we were tasked with taking pictures throughout the City that represented the theme of each of the sites. It was an amazing day of creativity and conversation. The most rewarding part was when each team presented their photos and the diversity and originality of the HotJobs community was displayed.

What have you done to be a better Yahoo?

I have infused my personal energy into my daily work atmosphere to bring as much fun and enthusiasm to my work environment as I can. I treat customers with respect and try to think of every call as a chance to talk to someone, to connect them with what they need, not as a mandatory experience that’s “just part of the job”.

Are you able to think big at Yahoo? How?

I feel like I am encouraged to speak my mind and find innovative solutions to commonplace problems. Initiative and spontaneity are encouraged and my individuality is valued. To me these are important signs of empowerment and appreciation.

What specific Yahoo! project has made the biggest impact on you and why?

The launch of the Yahoo! HotJobs Recruiter Resource Center had a big impact for me. It offered me a glimpse of what our company can accomplish when we pool our resources and work toward a common goal. I liked the way feedback from both jobseekers and employers was used to improve our system. As part of the team driving this project, I have heard positive comments from both sides and am excited to see where we will go next.

What made you choose Yahoo! as a place to work?

Yahoo! seemed like fun company to work for. I knew a couple of people that worked here and they loved it. I do too!
