At Yahoo!, we're always thinking big ... and with over 500 million users, we need the smartest minds in the business. We believe that today's college graduates are tomorrow's industry leaders, and we're eager to invest in your future. Here are just a few examples of how Yahoo! reaches out to the best students from leading universities around the world.
Fellowship Program
Supporting the academic community is a top priority at Yahoo!. The Yahoo! PhD Student Fellowship Program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students working in related research areas. Our fellowship program sponsors candidates conducting advanced research in the following areas:
Search (information retrieval, web analysis, graph theory,
data mining, and recommender systems)
Machine learning
Community systems (large-scale databases and
distributed systems)
We strongly encourage students working in any of the above areas to apply. Yahoo! fellows will not only benefit from our comprehensive financial support, but will also receive access to top Yahoo! researchers in their fields and exclusive invitations to important research events.
Please refer to our website for more details about the application process and eligibility requirements. If you have any questions, please contact us at yahoofellowship@yahoo-inc.com.
Key Technical Challenges Program
This exciting new graduate student program provides a limited number of exceptional PhD students with a small amount of unrestricted funding to support their research activities including: conference and travel fees, lab materials, professional society membership dues, etc.
The winners will also be invited to attend an exclusive workshop bringing together talented graduate students and Yahoo! scientists to discuss the fundamental tech challenges facing our industry today that will ultimately drive the next generation of the Internet.

through our Yahoo! Fellowship program to selected faculty
researchers.
Inviting faculty to give talks at our quarterly Distinguished
Speakers Series.
