Principal Technical Yahoo!/Lead Engineer – Real Time Communications Server Engineering
Excited about the world of instant messaging? Want to work in a highly technical, fast paced and hands on development environment? We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced “hands-on” Lead Software Engineer to work with us on the fast growing Yahoo! Messenger. As the Lead Engineer, you will be working with the Server Engineering Team to design and develop highly scalable and high performance architecture and to develop interfaces that facilitate the integration of the platform with other products at Yahoo! and with our partners. You will work with the Product, Business and Engineering teams to distill their requirements to technical design and implementation.
Required Job Qualifications
• A BSCS/MSCS or equivalent and at least 5 years of C/C++ server development experience in a UNIX environment, with emphasis on UNIX system internals, network programming, performance, server uptime and scalability is required.
• Should have demonstrated prior leadership capabilities as well as a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred Job Qualifications
• Experience in SIP/SIMPLE and XMPP, real-time programming/instant messaging technologies, peer-to-peer distributed systems, STL data structures, Perl, HTML, HTTP, Apache, security, and PHP is a big plus.
• Experience in developing, monitoring and managing a large-scale 24/7/365 production service is desirable
