Job Description:
As a Software Tools Engineer in Yahoo’s Foundation team, you will work primarily on developing complex, multi-tier distributed software applications that are used by teams across Yahoo!
Key Responsibilities:
• Working with other engineers from different teams to understand the requirements and needs
• Work on projects end-to-end from design, implementation, quality assurance, to delivery and maintenance of the product
• Using PHP, Javascript, HTML, Ajax, Web 2.0 techniques to build usable applications that are used by many people across Yahoo!
Job Requirements:
• Strong PHP, Javascript, CSS, HTML, Ajax, DHMTL, Perl, Java, and C/C++ knowledge
• Strong professional Web development experience
• Experience with Apache, Linux and other open source packages
• Database programming with MySQL
• Familiarity with XML basic principles.
• Experience with performance testing theories and methodologies
• Exercise flexibility and the ability to multi-task in a high stress environment
Skills Desired:
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
• Understanding of OOP and event-driven programming
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Experience with performance testing and analysis tools
• Network programming experience with TCP/IP or UDP
