The Search, Advertising and Audience Sciences teams are looking for candidates with strong analytical and software skills to join our team. You would help improve the relevance and revenue of our search, advertising and audience products.
Job Responsibilities:
* Apply probabilistic, machine learning and data mining techniques to build models to improve relevance, revenue, and user experience.
* Deep dive into the data to understand and apply patterns, while maintaining a sense of the big picture.
* Work closely with colleagues on the engineering team to put your research results into action.
* Provide thought leadership to guide the direction of Yahoo! Search, Advertising and Audience products and services.
Required skills/qualifications:
* Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent.
* Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning and data mining
* Experience in data driven methods in computational linguistics, information retrieval, speech recognition, machine translation, image processing or other related fields
* Fluency in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred skills/qualifications:
* Experience in C or C++ a plus
* Recent PhD graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
