Ready. Set. Go.

Get an internship experience that’ll make your roommates, friends and classmates purple with envy. From day one you’ll be given a real assignment that will make a real impact on our business, our hundreds of millions of users—and on your future career and the opportunities that will be available to you. You certainly won’t be making copies and coffee runs (unless you like coffee, in which case our free latte bars might interest you).

Not your ordinary internship.

You’ll be amazed the difference you can make—even in a few months. Maybe your code will be used by millions, or you’ll launch a marketing campaign, develop a new product strategy or an amazing GUI. Our interns have done that—and more.

You’ll also have lots of fun—volunteering within the community, networking and social events, and showcasing your work to top execs. You could even have the winning hack at our company-wide Hack Day.

If that’s not enough, you’ll also enjoy:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Housing stipend (where applicable)
  • Travel to and from your internship
  • The opportunity to be considered for a full-time position upon graduation

It’s no wonder many full-time Yahoos admit that they have intern envy!

A leading source of Open Source.

As a Technical Yahoo Intern, you’ll get to join one of our most exciting initiatives—rewiring Yahoo! to be even more open. We’ve been a leader in industry efforts to embrace open development, adopting open source software within a range of Yahoo! operations and services.

Previous Technical Intern projects include:

  • A parking web service which helps find empty parking spaces in a crowded place
  • Designing core UI components of the Yahoo! Toolbar
“I’ve been working in the Yahoo! Toolbar Engineering group on the next big release. This is a pretty small team of about a dozen engineers and I’ve been entrusted with some of the core UI components. In other words, a lot of the UI the users will see when the toolbar first loads is being engineered by me!” Pushkar, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis

Top-tier experience. Dress-down attitude.

Think Wall Street. Be a Yahoo. Our new Finance grads work on a 2-year rotational program (like all the top firms on the Street) for new grads and you’ll get to experience some of that here as an intern. At the start of your internship, you’ll be given finance training and an introduction to how finance works here at Yahoo! from some of the best minds in the business. You’ll then be given real, measurable projects on which to unleash your skills. At the end of the summer, you will present the results of your work to your peers and our finance leaders.

You will also get to participate in weekly lunches hosted by senior finance leaders. And, of course, like all our interns, you’ll get a good dose of Yahoo!-style fun.

Past Finance interns have:

  • Created a guide called FinPedia that is used by everyone in Finance
  • Developed an executive dashboard that gives updated metrics like employee headcount and budgeting
“I have had a great experience and am really happy with all the exposure I’ve gotten in my short time here. I’ve created alignment on definitions between Finance and HR for the newest release of the FinPedia; a new executive Headcount Dashboard. I’ve also made presentations to Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents and worked closely with both HR and the Corp Ops Finance teams.” Joshua, Santa Clara University
